ACNE CLEARANCE FACIAL

Acne occurs when the pores become clogged with dead skin cells and excess sebum. This provides an ideal medium for bacteria to multiply – causing pimples and inflammation. Acne generally begins in puberty but can last well into adulthood.
Our Treatment

The acne clearance facial is designed for all skin type from Skin type I until VI. A light glycolic peel is applied on the face and after about 3-5 minutes it is then neutralized. A gentle manual extraction is then performed to clear out pustules, blackheads and white heads present.
The IPL using Long pulse width followed by short pulse width is then applied. Long pulse width penetrates deeper and produces more effect on cysts and sebaceous glands by utilizing a linger heating time whilst the short pulse width helps the superficial lesions by utilizing a higher peak power, but deliver more superficially.

Pulsed Light: How Does It Work?

Pulses of filtered light are directed into the skin, where they destroy bacteria to clear current acne breakouts. The light pulses also slow down the production of sebum, which can get clogged in the pores – this prevents future acne breakouts. Pulsed light systems are similar to lasers but with a larger light beam than most lasers for wider coverage and faster, more comfortable treatments.

What Happens After Acne Treatment?

Your skin may be slightly red after treatment. A cooling mask is normally applied to help reduce the redness and heat form the IPL. The acne blemishes shrink and become less noticeable, and then fade after approximately one week. A good acne skincare products are advised for home care followed by a good sunscreen daily to prevent post inflammatory hyperpigmentation

Will the Treatments Hurt?

Palomar Pulsed Light Systems use a unique long pulse-width that delivers energy to the skin over a relatively long period of time. This makes the pulses safer and more comfortable. You may experience a feeling similar to that of a rubber band being snapped on the skin, but most people do not report this sensation as painful.

Are There Any Adverse Reactions to Treatment?

You may experience temporary redness and mild “sunburn”- like effect that may last a few hours to a few days
